The authors of a recently-published linguistics textbook have pledged to donate its proceeds to the Linguistic Society of America.

Book cover

The royalties from Languages and Dialects in the U.S.: Focus on Diversity and Linguistics (Routledge: 2014), edited by Marianna Di Paolo and Arthur K. Spears, will be donated to the LSA's Program Development and Committee Activities Fund, which includes the Committee on Ethnic Diversity in Linguistics (CEDL). Di Paolo previously served as the co-chair of CEDL.

The LSA thanks both Di Paolo and Spears for their generosity and their consideration of diversity issues in linguistics. As a reminder, Amazon Smile users can cause a portion of any purchase they make to be donated to the LSA; read more in our Amazon Smile announcement.
