The Linguistic Society of America recently presented Jim Bauman with the LSA's Linguistic Service Award. A special ceremony was held January 27, 2015, at the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC, where Dr. Bauman worked prior to his retirement. The award was presented by LSA Executive Director Alyson Reed and Colin Phillips, LSA Executive Committee member and Professor of Linguistics at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Bauman received the 2015 Linguistic Service Award "for exemplary volunteer service to the LSA Secretariat in enhancing the Society’s collaborative partnerships, communications, technical infrastructure, and advocacy on behalf of the field of linguistics". Congratulations and thanks!
