July Webinar on the Emergence of SELF as a Copula in ASL now available online
Thursday, July 21, 2022 - 5:26pm
The July 2022 installment of our “Meet the Authors” webinar series featuring authors Tory Sampson (UC San Diego) and Rachel Mayberry (UC San Diego), authors of “An Emerging SELF: The Copula Cycle in American Sign Language,” is now available online on our YouTube channel. The paper, available in the most recent edition of Language and online here, documents the emergence of the copula—a word meaning to be (e.g., is, was, are, were)—in ASL, something that has been overlooked in previous linguistic analyses.
