2023: UMass Amherst

The LSA is pleased to announce that UMass Amherst will serve as the host campus for the biennial Linguistic Institute. Originally planned for 2021, the Institute was postponed until 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2025:  University of Oregon

The Directors will be Vsevolod Kapatsinksi, Melissa Baese-Berk, and Spike Gildea.  The theme will be "Language in Use." Originally planned for 2023, the Institute was postponed until 2025 due to the postponement of the UMass Institute caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond 2025

The Linguistic Institutes are held in odd-numbered summers. Please contact the LSA for more information about hosting an institute in 2027 or later. Details about the required elements for hosting a future Institute may be found in the most recent RFP developed for 2023 available below (look for updates to the RFP in 2023).
